Pulmonary Velocity Acceleration Time (PVAT)

• In healthy adults, a normal PV acceleration time is >110 ms.
• If <105 ms or evidence of systolic notching (figure on right below), may indicate elevated PASP.
• When PVAT <90 ms, can identify most patients with PVR ≥ 3 WU (See Pulmonary Hypertension)
