RV Afterload
- ⚠️ Additional positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) (either due to ventilator support or from obstructive pulmonary disease) will increase RV afterload and can contribute to RV failure.
- Although better tolerated initially, the RV remains afterload-sensitive with more progressive and chronic changes in load (i.e. chronic PH).
